The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Ministry of Education have published an educational resource called Al Ain Cultural Sites Inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List as part of the national educational curriculum. The curriculum was implemented as part of a new education plan aimed at students and teachers in public and private schools across the UAE.

Al-Ain Cultural Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List is a publication that promotes the Cultural Sites of Al Ain, particularly those that have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is available in Arabic and English. The inclusion heightens students’ knowledge of the significance of the Al Ain sites as part of a shared world and human history, as well as the responsibility that these students, as well as all members of society, must play in preserving them for future generations.

The Educator Resource was put together by DCT Abu Dhabi under the supervision of leading experts and specialists in the fields of education, culture, and history. The education efforts of DCT Abu Dhabi are based on an integrative strategy that uses multidisciplinary interactive media and methodologies for individual and group learning to reach educational goals in cognitive, practical, and behavioral sectors relevant to cultural education.”This publication, issued by the DCT Abu Dhabi, constitutes an important educational and historical resource that sheds light on Al Ain Cultural Sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, some of which date back thousands of years,” Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, said of the new curriculum. The Jebel Hafit tombs, Hili settlements, Bida bint Saud tombs, falaj irrigation systems, and historical oases, for example, provide a wealth of information about the cultural history of these sites, particularly those from the Bronze and Iron Ages.”

The Education Ministry’s new prospectus intends to strengthen young minds and their national identity by helping them develop their Emirati character by studying the past and drawing information and lessons to help them construct the present and future.
