The second edition of the Richard Mille Art Prize was launched on Friday by the Louvre Abu Dhabi, with the goal of attracting artists living and working in the Gulf region.

The competition will allow creatives from diverse areas to exhibit their work at the museum’s Forum, a platform for engagement and exchange dedicated to contemporary art, in honour of its fifth anniversary. In Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, Peter Harrison, CEO of Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille, said the company was “proud” to be increasing the possibility for GCC nationals and residents.

“Following last year’s remarkable lineup of artists, this year’s edition… pushes artists to dwell on the powerful terms ‘Icon’ and ‘iconic,’ pushing the boundaries of their creativity,” he said.
