Rixos Premium Dubai has partnered with renowned Turkish artist Deniz Sagdic to present an extraordinary art exhibition titled “Ready-Remade.” Held from June 15 to August 15, the display is located in the hotel lobby and showcases Sagdic’s unique creations. Having previously exhibited her works in renowned public spaces like Milan, London, and Hong Kong, Deniz Sagdic’s collaboration with Rixos Premium Dubai aligns perfectly with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.

Initially from Mersin, Turkey, Sagdic embarked on her artistic journey at Mersin University Faculty of Fine Arts, where she studied from 1999 to 2003. Since then, she has participated in numerous international and national projects, gaining worldwide acclaim for her innovative use of waste materials and unconventional artistic approach.

Sagdic’s style captivates visitors with its thought-provoking nature and visual allure. By utilizing recycled materials, her artworks not only offer aesthetic pleasure but also promote sustainability. Through her exhibition, Sagdic encourages viewers to reflect on recycling and reuse while challenging societal norms surrounding consumption. She breathes new life into discarded objects by stripping them of their original functions and imbuing them with new purposes.

The exhibition features 14 art pieces on seven specially designed stands, blending classical techniques with conceptualism. Sagdic incorporates human faces prominently in her work, recognizing their power to effectively convey emotions and thoughts. By juxtaposing waste materials with human faces, she aims to remind viewers of our collective responsibility for the planet. Her art presents a profound statement on the value of repurposing what society deems worthless, elevating discarded items onto a pedestal of significance.

Sagdic’s passion for sustainability drives her to employ various waste materials in her art. Each new material presents a challenge and an opportunity for her as an artist. She meticulously observes and experiments with the material, allowing it to guide her creative process. Through this collaboration with discarded items, she gives them new life in the form of captivating artworks.

The diversity of ethnicities represented in Sagdic’s art reflects her belief that environmental issues concern the entire world and all societies. Onur Saylan, Consul General of the Turkish Consulate General in Dubai, commended Sagdic’s artistic evolution and praised her dedication to promoting a sustainable and zero-waste world. He highlighted the significance of her use of waste materials to create portraits from different cultures, emphasizing the universal nature of the environmental challenges we face.

Rixos Premium Dubai sees the exhibition as an opportunity to contribute to the conversation surrounding sustainability. Transforming the hotel lobby into an immersive art gallery invites visitors to explore Deniz Sagdic’s creative mind and contemplate their relationship with the environment. As a luxury hotel chain, Rixos is committed to wellness, and each of its properties features an authentic Turkish Hammam renowned for its spa rituals. In the United Arab Emirates, Rixos currently operates five hotels, including Rixos Premium Dubai, Rixos The Palm Dubai Hotel & Suites, Rixos Bab Al Bahr, Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island, and Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi.

The collaboration between Rixos Premium Dubai and Deniz Sagdic presents an extraordinary fusion of creativity and sustainability. Through this exhibition, visitors can witness the transformative power of art and engage with pressing environmental issues. Rixos Premium Dubai invites everyone to experience this exceptional art showcase, inviting reflection and inspiring a more sustainable future.
