Manasse Rampino, an Italian artist, has gained recognition in Dubai’s burgeoning art scene for his unique blend of classical art and contemporary pop culture. His art juxtaposes the elegance of Renaissance aesthetics with the playful vibrancy of pop art, creating pieces that resonate with both the old and new. From fashion icons to cinematic legends, Rampino’s work captures elements of nostalgia and modernity, making him a stand-out figure in the UAE’s creative landscape. His expertise lies in merging contrasts—black and white against bright hues, abstract with figurative—resulting in a visual style that is both engaging and thought-provoking.

Manasse Rampino’s journey in the world of art started with classical influences, but he has since evolved into a modern pop artist with a flair for integrating vibrant colors and cultural symbols. Born in Italy in 1989, Rampino’s early education in art came through his studies in oil painting, restoration, and mosaic. He also ventured into cinema, which added depth to his visual storytelling, further honing his ability to depict dramatic, almost theatrical scenes in his artwork.

Rampino’s work is deeply rooted in the philosophy of contrast, both visually and conceptually. His pieces often depict iconic figures from cinema, fashion, and even cartoons, yet they are treated with the same reverence and composition as Renaissance paintings. This fusion of the ancient with the modern creates an irresistible tension in his works, where the viewer is invited to navigate between past and present, tradition and innovation.

The artist’s relocation to Dubai in 2018 marked a pivotal shift in his career. Dubai, a hub of artistic and cultural exchange, provided Rampino with an international platform to showcase his talent. It was here that he began experimenting more boldly with pop art, blending the vibrant energy of the city with his classical training. His works have been showcased in prestigious galleries like Gallery27 in Dubai Marina, allowing him to establish a loyal fan base in the Middle East.

Rampino’s artworks are known for their vibrant and explosive use of color, often portraying figures from both historical and contemporary cultures. His ability to manipulate bold and subdued tones within the same canvas speaks to his mastery of contrast. He uses these juxtapositions to explore themes of nostalgia, beauty, and human expression. According to Rampino, his art is meant to spark joy and encourage viewers to remember simpler, more carefree times. Yet, there is a layer of modernity and edge that keeps the work fresh and relevant.
